While we know that slime won’t last forever, it does last a very long time when properly taken care of. If you are new to owning slime or haven’t had good luck with yours in the past, here are a few tips to help!
- Always wash your hands before and after playing with your slime. This helps to prevent dirt and oil from getting mixed into it.
- Only play with your slime on clean surfaces in order to keep dirt and other things from getting into it. We recommend using a Slime Mat for this purpose. It also helps keep your home clean!
- When not playing with your slime, be sure to keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
- If your slime is too sticky, you can add activator in small amounts, slowly working it in until the slime is the consistency that you want.
- If your slime is too tough, you can work lotion or some hand sanitizer gel into it until you get the correct texture back. Warming it up can also help it regain its stretchiness.
- Should you get slime on your clothes, carpet, or other soft surface, use warm water or glycerin to soften and remove it. For us, when it gets on shirts and pants, we just put it through the wash after letting it soak for a bit.
- Play with your slime often! Playing with it helps keep it in good condition and lets you know when to add activator before it becomes too broken down.
